Margaritaville has seen the light and has agreed to cancel our Convention and our obligations. There is definitely no state Convention this year. Procedure to deal with any issues will be forthcoming. Be sure to call the resort and make sure your room reservations are cancelled.

Greetings Lions. I sent Margaritaville an email about the CDC recommendation for groups over 50 people that is inadvisable for our group to hold our convention and used the Force Majeure in our contact giving them the required 10 day notice to terminate. Your health and safety is important to us and we have heavy hearts cancelling the convention. We will be sending out refunds where you don’t need to request it.

I would like to thank our host committee for all their hard work they had done: Jennifer Alexander; MaryJane Noellsch; Mary Brunkhorst; Susan Paden, DG; John Clark, PDG; MaryJane Clark; Lyn Porterfield, PDG; Jacki Davidson; Pat Porterfield, PCC; Carol Deters; Joanie Sliger; Dexter Enders; Mike Sliger, PDG; Nancy Drebes, PDG; Sherl Horton; Dr. Dwayne Garrett, PID; Jeanette Garrett; John Glidden; Altha Marsh, PDG; Freda McKee, PDG; Betty Noland; Don Noland, IPID; Bob Noellsch, PDG.

PEDIATRIC SERVICE PROJECT

We will be collecting items for Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Columbia. Books for Babies: When a child arrives in NICU, his/her parents receive a children’s book. Every month, the parents receive another new book. Baby’s footprints are on the inside cover of each book, giving parents a way to see baby’s growth. Other items needed stuffed animals, games, birthday balloons, party hats, birthday plates/napkins, treats and toys. The district who brings the most items will be our VIPs for the weekend. Details of contest will be on website in 2020.

Contact Sandy McCann mccannsandy1@gmail.com or John Clark lionclarkm3@gmail.com for more details and if you want to be on the planning committee.
